yadif mode 1 duplicates first two frames and hence causes lip-sync error

Thank you in advance for your help with this problem.

I have been experimenting with the various deinterlacing options and have
found that mcdeint produces excellent results.

As the ffmpeg filters documentation explains, mcdeint "needs one field per
frame as input and must thus be used together with yadif=1/3 or
equivalent". My complex filter therefore includes
"yadif=1:0:0,mcdeint=0:0:10".

What I've noticed though (by playing the output in Telestream Switch and
analysing/comparing using Interra Vega), is that when I use yadif mode 1,
the first two video frames are duplicated in the output (the first 2 frames
in the input become 4 frames in the output and the output file is thus 2
frames longer than the required duration). Since the audio stream does not
by default have a two-frame offset, an AV sync error is introduced. This
does not occur with yadif mode 0.

I'm guessing that I can compensate using the adelay filter or similar but I
would like to understand why the two frames are duplicated and, if
possible, to prevent that from happening whilst retaining my chosen
deinterlacing settings.

Strangely, the lip-sync error is less noticeable in VLC Player compared to
Switch and this is another reason why I'm reluctant to force an audio delay.

96de7bf8df Copyright (c) 2000-2017 the FFmpeg developers" which, if not the
latest version, is only a month or two old and the result is exactly the
same. Do you think this issue has been resolved since then?

I think that I forgot to tell you a few things earlier:
Please find out what top-posting means and avoid it here.

If you want to use mcdeint, do not combine it with "-r", the
combination makes no sense and therefore will get very
little support.

In any case, try to simplify your command line before asking
for help, please remove "concat=n=1", it makes no sense either.
This includes the removal of the forced (original) resolution
and aspect ratio.

Once you reproduced with current FFmpeg and a simplified
command line, please post the command line including
complete, uncut console output again.

The copyright date suggests at least 28 months old. Try a static build from
https://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ and see how that works.

First of all, apologies for top-posting. I had read about it and *thought* I'd
avoided it last time but clearly I hadn't. Hopefully what I've done this
time will have done the trick.

I have now simplified my command and tried it with the current ffmpeg git
head. More importantly, your advice has helped me to overcome my original
issue which I believe stemmed from a misunderstanding of mcdeint and use of
the -r filter. Simply removing the "-r 25" resolved the duplicated
frame/lip-sync issue but produced 50fps output which is not what I wanted
but I guess is what is expected. I had previously thought that mcdeint
generates a single output frame from alternate input fields but my tests
indicate that mcdeint duplicates every output frame preserving the input
field rate - is that correct?

In order to preserve the high quality mcdeint deinterlacing whilst
outputting 25fps, I added an fps filter into my chain which seems to have
had the desired effect without introducing the two duplicated frames at the
start and the consequent lip-sync error.

Here for the benefit of anyone else who may have experienced the same
problem as me and with the hope that you will kindly point out any other
errors or misunderstandings on my part, is my new command and console
