First of all, fix your mailer (or just use a not broken one), then use
-acodec libmp3lame.

HTH, regards.

Sorry about the formatting...hopefully this works.

Anyway...used --enable-libmp3lame when reconfiguring ffmpeg.  I have the latest version of lame installed.  I get this message Unknown encoder 'libmp3lame'

Thanks

Ok....looked at install of lame and ffmeg options.

Seems that --enable-mp3x and --enable --enable-libmp3lame are disabled by default.  I built both ffmpeg and lame using default methods.  What is the minimum configuration and options that I need to extract mp3 from a flash video.  I rebuilt lame and still got error about liblame not being found when using ffmpeg.

BY the way.....I have no idea why the text comes out so messy when I past to hotmail and send to ailing list.  WHen I send to myself...then all ok...wierd but again my apologies.

Provide more information, this issue seems very dependant on your
platform, for example in a Debian based system you usually don't need
to compile libmp3lame, you simply do a sudo apt-get install libmp3lame
libmp3lame-dev.

Also are you sure you did make install after libmp3lame compilation,
and where do you have installed libraries/headers? If they aren't in a
standard path the ffmpeg configure will have a hard time figuring out
where to look for them.

It's not the first time hotmail users got their mails mangled on this
list, so I think it's hotmail to be blamed.
