Re: AVID Proxy H.264

David Prosser
Hi all,
I'm late to the conversation but, did either of you have any luck in
getting ffmpeg to create Avid readable MXFs? I'm dealing with that at the
moment but it seems pretty reluctant to use anything that's made by ffmpeg.
I wonder if the codec IDs need to be faked in order for it to be recognised?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave.

No, I started investigating in using Avid’s own SDK. Haven’t gotten it working yet.

Best, Kasper

Re: AVID Proxy H.264

I've been trying to get hold of their SDK tools but don't seem to have much
luck - were you able to download the AMT tools from somewhere? They
mentioned their "Professional Codec Pack" may be able to do it, but them
mentioning it as about as far as they went....they're just added the
ability to make Long GOP H264 within Avid but, I think it's due to how Avid
expects it to wrapped in the MXF.
