Problem while decoding of WVC1 encoded video

Olaf Leidinger
Hello list!

I bought the BluRay version of the movie "Home" and would like to watch
it using free software (linux and mplayer). Therefor I dumped the
content of the BluRay to HDD and got several m2ts files. The
different video files are mostly encoded in WVC1, which ffmpeg seems to
support. But when playing it using the version of mplayer, which is
included in archlinux, the self-compiled svn version of mplayer or even
the svn version of mplayer compiled for win32 I get no video and output
like

Error while decoding frame.

Mplayer uses ffmpeg (the svn version of mplayer uses the svn version of
ffmpeg).

For better testing I created a short extract of a longer track,
extracted using mencoder:

mencoder 00004.m2ts -oac copy -ovc copy -o 00004.avi -endpos 10mb

I tried to use ffmpeg directly using this extract:

$ ffmpeg -i 00004.avi -f avi -vcodec mpeg4 out.avi

What might be the problem? Is there anything I could do about it?

BTW: Mplayer also doesn't play it using win32dlls.

Thanks a lot,

O.Leidinger

Re: Problem while decoding of WVC1 encoded video

Olaf Leidinger
Hi!

Meanwhile I've learned that the material is interlaced and that ffmpeg
doesn't support interlaced VC1. Is there anyone working on it?

Thanks a lot,

O.Leidinger
