I get 46 vertical lines in the .mpg video images when capturing from analog video

bjc-2
I am hoping someone with more experience than I have will recognize my
problem. I've done web and forum searches but have not found anything
like this.

I am trying to covert my 8mm analog film from a Sony camcorder to
digital format. My problem is that I consistently get about 46 prominent
vertical lines that stand out over the video images in the .mpg file it
generates. I capture using this type of command.

I'll get the audio setup as soon as I fix this video problem.

c2d:~$ ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 -target svcd out.mpg
c2d:~$ ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 -target svcd -deinterlace out.mpg

I've got a amd64 computer with a debian lenny OS with a wintv-pvr-150
card. The ffmpeg istalled is from the debian repository;

c2d:~$ ffmpeg -version

Thanks for your help

That indicates your version is probably too old. Please upgrade (dont
forget the make distclean!)
