Concat AAC failure

les_garten
I am having an issue with this concat command:  ffmpeg -i "concat:Part1.ts|Part2.ts" -c copy -bsf:a

aac_adtstoasc output.mp4

I converted 2 mp4 files to ts to concatenate.  These files work perfectly when played separately as

ts files.  When I concat, I get perfect video with no audio.

Here is the mp4 codec info:

Stream0
        Type: Video
        Codec:H264-MPEG-4 AVC (part10)(avc1)
        Resolution:3840x2160
        Frame Rate:29.970029
        Decoded Format:4:2:0 YUV

Stream 1
        Type:Audio
        Codec:MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
        Channels: Stereo
        Sample Rate: 48000 Hz

I'll attach the file shoring the error

Any idea what is going wrong?

Here is the console log:

I believe you have a wrong understanding of what concat means. What are
you trying to achieve? In the concat protocol doc, it explains it in
different words:
https://www.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-protocols.html#concat
"Read and seek from many resources in sequence as if they were a
   unique resource."
In sequence, so after one another.

What it does't say there is that it's for concatenation of files with
same codec. See here:
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Concatenate#samecodec

Are you really trying to put your audio file _after_ the video file?
Probably not. I think what you are trying to do is commonly called
"merge" or "multiplex" (short "mux"). It's one of ffmpeg's easiest
tasks.

Please clarify.

Re: Concat AAC failure

I took 2 mp4 files with audio and video.

I converted them to 2 TS files so that I could concatenate them.  The TS files play perfectly.

I ran the concat command to cat the files.  The Video concatenated perfectly, however there is no audio in the concatenated file.

Both files have identical codecs

Sorry, misunderstanding on my side.

I believe converting even only Part1.ts (without concat) will fail as
such:

> [mpegts @ 0000000002fa1220] Could not find codec parameters for stream 1
> (Audio: aac ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 0 channels, fltp): unspecified sample rate

How was it created?

These are mp4's that are captured by a Panasonic Camera and converted to ts files with:

ffmpeg -i Part1.mp4 -c copy -bsf h264_mp4toannexb Part1.ts
ffmpeg -i Part2.mp4 -c copy -bsf h264_mp4toannexb Part2.ts
